Fly Traps

There are various types of fly traps used in the control and elimination of nuisance house flies, fruit flies or other flying pests.  Pheromone traps use sexual attractants to lure flies to sticky pads or into a liquid trap.  Older models of light traps incorporated standard light bulbs.  The older type of lighted fly trap does attract insects but not as well as traps that use ultraviolet lights.  Many insects are attracted to ultraviolet but the main use of this type of trap is in fly control.  Ultraviolet rays emitted by professional traps are not harmful to people or pets.  These traps are more desirable than sprays for indoor fly control.
The power or effective range of an ultraviolet fly trap is determined by the power or wattage of the bulbs, the number of bulbs and (most importantly) the physical configuration of the trap.  Low profile traps used in dining areas of restaurants and homes do not emit the same amount of UV rays as professional traps used in food preparation areas, receiving areas and warehouses.
Our line of ultraviolet fly traps are designed for optimum coverage, resulting in more powerful traps for better fly control.

There are two basic types of ultraviolet insect traps: those that electrocute bugs and those that capture bugs on replaceable sticky pads or glue traps.  Our capture pads are impregnated with a pheromone that helps attract those difficult to control nuisance flies.

Animals are not harmed by these traps, when used correctly.

Herbicides There are several basic types of herbicides, each targeting certain plant pests (weeds, grasses.)
Pre-emergent herbicides are used to stop the germination of plant seeds.
Post emergent herbicides can be selective or non-selective, used to kill existing weeds.
Products such as Eraser (Roundup, QuickPro) can be considered non selective and post emergent.
A non-selective herbicide tries to kill most plants.
Selective herbicides are designed to kill specific types of plants, usually grasses or broad leaf weeds.
Trimec (for example) recognizes broad-leaf weeds and ignores grasses.
TIP: When spraying herbicides on plants, a surfactant can be used to increase the efficiency of herbicides.

Total vegetation products (listed on this page) are considered soil sterilizers, killing all plant nutrients in the soil and preventing any vegetation from surviving.  Great care should be taken with this type of product.  Effects can last up to a year, allowing nothing to grow.  Great for fence rows, terrible for lawns.

Pesticide Alternatives Sticky traps, natural or biological, pheromone traps, insect growth regulators and other alternatives to traditional contact insecticides.
Generics Generics are professional grade pest control products with same active ingredients as brand names.  Unless otherwise noted, the amount of active ingredients is also the same.
Pest Control Kits Pest Control Kits contain combination of products for best control of certain pest problems.  Kits save money over ordering products individually.
Odor Control Products Most modern odor control products use enzymes or microbes to eliminate odors at their source - the molecular level.  The majority of odors in homes, restaurants, kitchens, etc. orignate from organic materials as they break down or decay.  The majority of our odor control products are also cleaning products

Odor control products are availabe in various forms: natural foaming products, aerosol, foaming aerosol, ready-to-use thick liquids (gel) for use in drains, ready-to-use sprays for carpets and furniture and natural cleaners for use in mop water.
Fungicides Plant and lawn fungicides are best used as a preventative measure, which saves money (in amount of fungicide used in each application) and prevents damage to lawns, flowering plants and ornamentals.
The amount of fungicide used to cure a fungus problem is usually at least twice the amount used when applied as a preventative.  This is especially important when treating lawns, turf grasses.
Always carefully read and follow label instructions for safety measures and to help prevent damage to plants being treated.
